Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

SATURDAY'S CARD

June 25th was six months before and after Christmas. It was also the day I would have liked to post this card. However, a yard sale, quick trip out of town and the fact that I made the card *yesterday* were deciding factors for not  :) (now there's a ramble for ya)
So, I hope you enjoy it today. Very simple- just coloured with markers.

Have an amazing day, whatever it is you're doing!

POPPY LOVE

I love late June simply because that's when my poppies bloom. They are huge and bright and gorgeous!
I only wish they lasted longer *sigh*.

TOO PRETTY TO MESS UP

Don't you just love the beautiful napkins available now? I spotted this lovely design and knew the napkins had to come home with me. I was at Dollarama and the package cost $1. Fantastic! You and I know these can run as high as $6.99 so not only was I jazzed about the beautiful design, it was a steal of a deal.

This card was very simple to make. Remove the plain layers from the napkin and glue the top layer only to cardstock. Thin some white glue with water and paint it onto the cardstock, lay on the napkin and brush on another coat of the glue mixture. If you have Mod Podge or similar product, that works too  :)
Let it dry, then trim the edges to clean it all up. Done!

Warning: I have found this technique to be very addictive. Just sayin'.

Looks like sunshine out there- hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for looking and for your comments. I appreciate it very much.

THE BLUES AND A PEACOCK FEATHER

Do you like the feather? In real life, it just shimmers and is so beautiful.
My friend Margo is the Queen of 3-D when papercrafting. She builds amazing cards and ATC's and we just love her work. She knows I love blue and bling so she knew I'd love this card too.

This is the last of the birthday cards I'll be sharing.  Thank you my friends Cindy, Yvonne, Jutta and Margo for allowing me to share on my blog. You ladies rock!

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for looking!

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY CARD

My friend Jutta takes lovely photos and she used one for the focal point of this card. I love snapdragons!
She added vellum with gold embossing which adds to the card without taking away from the photo.Beautiful!

Thanks for looking!

A SKETCH AND A COLOUR COMBO

On Splitcoast today, I came across a sketch challenge. You can find it here.
I also received a color challenge in my email, so I put the two together. Go here to check that out- you won't be disappointed. Other than choosing the image, or in this case text, for the center panel, all other decisions were made for me. I chose to follow the sketch exactly, but turn it on it's side.

I enjoyed this for something different and believe I'll take part in challenges again.
How about you?

By the way, the colours are vanilla, soft suede, crumb cake, early espresso and cherry cobbler. Other than the soft suede, they sound like dessert- yummy!

Have an exceptional day!

SPRING CARD

Have you been seeing these Spring cards lately? Me too and had to try one. They made the rounds a couple years ago as well but were a little smaller. Either size is still very cute.
I used a lot of designer paper on this one because it's retiting the end of June. So are the stamps I used. This is a busy card, not my usual style, but I like it.
This view shows a little more of the base.
The directions are here.

Have fun and enjoy your day!

BLUE BEAUTY IN DELFT TILES

Yvonne created this stunner! Blue is my favourite colour and she did this technique so beautifully.
The best cards are the ones we receive from others.

Make some today and give someone a smile on paper.
One from your face would be okay too.  :)

CREATIVE WITH HER CRICUT

My friend Cindy gave me this card. She loves animal prints and makes good use of her Cricut. This is one cupcake I can enjoy absolutely guilt free. Thanks Cindy!

Off to Creative Chaos in an hour so I know my day will rock- hope yours does too!

EMERGING COLOUR- WARMED UP

Warmer colours heat up this technique. As with yesterday's card, the entire surface was clear embossed once all the layers of stamping, embossing and sponging were done.
Here are the two cards showing the glossy, almost ceramic type finish.

Have a wonderful weekend!

EMERGING COLOUR

I had some time today that I put to good use by getting my fingers all inky. Loved it! Emerging Colour can be a messy technique as there is lots of sponging with inks, between stamping and embossing. A blank white space becomes something that has depth and colour.
This technique is exploratory as well since you can stop at any time, ink more, emboss more, emboss the entire surface at the end or don't. I chose to emboss the whole piece when I was finished and it resembles a beautiful ceramic tile.
I wasn't able to get a photo showing the gloss but I'll keep trying.

Enjoy this day- there is so much that is perfect about it.
