Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

MORE WITH THE BRAYER

This last card was made with natural white cardstock which has a rough texture compared to whisper white. It created a different finish with the brayering. I like it.

This completes the samples from our brayer session. Thanks for looking!

Don't forget that I'll be giving away a 12x12 clip frame the end of September. Leave me a comment to be entered to win!

EVEN THE UGLY ONES........

....get shown. This was a challenge card. See the orange tag and brown label? The challenge was to use them both on one card. So, I began stamping, cutting, embossing, all with no clear plan or idea. I just kept building and adding, inking, and adding some more. I finally put a stop to the insanity ---enough already!

Go ahead, you can laugh- this really is an ugly card.  :)

GLITTER LACE

Pull out your shades! There is high bling content here!
Really, it's just lots of beautiful, gleaming glitter.
The pink and blue cardstock are a much better match IRL.
Love the shimmer and shine!

TAG TUESDAY PEEK

One of the techniques for Tag Tuesday will be Stained Mosaic.
So easy and looks like broken china.

MASCULINE STYLE MASKING TAPE

Masking tape background- it almost has a bark appearance which lets it pair up nicely with the tree stamp.
The diamond plate embossing totally makes this a 'guy' card.

What a bonus of a beautiful day- hope you got to enjoy it!

SIMPLE GUY CARD

Maybe I should re-phrase that- the card is simple- not the guy :)
Simple stamping with no need to colour, some dry embossing, tied cord and done!
This one will be a birthday card for a good friend of ours and he is so NOT simple.

I'm working on a variety of quick and easy cards for World Card Making Day and a card buffet.
Stay tuned!

SALSA TIME BABY!

What's the best part about making salsa- besides eating it? Hmmmm...how about, spending a good part of the day with a friend (Hi Joan!)......being busy together.......havng the house filled with the wonderful aroma, for a couple days......seeing the results of your labours?
A perfect thing to do on a rainy day. It was plenty warm inside!
So pretty!  And yummy! Time well spent.

BRAYERED FAVE

Here is abother card from our evening with a brayer. It also shows the Christmas Collage background stamp-part of it anyway. Again, I brought out the shimmer ink and used it two ways- lightly sponged over the embossing along the bottom and sprayed lightly across the top. The snowflakes were sponged with it as well but it doesn't show up in the photo.

Have a fantastic day!

SIMPLY BRAYERED

Hostess Club used brayering techniques this month. This card is one sample and couldn't be simpler with no additional colouring- just brayering.
Enjoy your day- hope you get out in the sunshine!

CHRISTMAS CARD CAMP

Another fun time with some great stampers and a few more Christmas cards for the stash.
Rich razzleberry-yum! Once the ink dried, champagne shimmer ink was sponged onto the punched ornament for a super shine. Just love that shimmer ink.
A little bit of vintage, or maybe shabby distress? Just a few punched pieces, sponged ink and pearls- oh my!

Basic stamping, marker inking and embossing with a stencil.
Simple, quick and mailable.(is that even a word?)
No card camp would be complete without a snowflake somewhere and this card has one with bling.

That's all for now.
Be sure and have a wonderful day!

RAZZLEBERRY SHIMMER

A  little Razzleberry goes a long way. A drop from the re-inker added to a couple drops of champagne shimmer ink-  and the poinsettia gets an amazing coat of bling. On this card, I added the shimmer mix with a brush after stamping it. Another way would be to sponge the mix onto the stamp- the look is a little different- I'll show you sometime, but it still has lots of shine.
Speaking of shine-the sunshine was fantastic today, and so warm. I hope there's a lot more to come.
Have a great day!

MEXICO WEDDING

The inside of this card (no photo) has a pocket for the "wedding gift". On the outside, there's a brayered sand and sky stamped image layered onto matching designer paper. The flowers that hug the stamped circle are clear embossed. To do that with dye ink, just ink up the stamp with Versamark first, then the ink, then stamp. Apply the embossing powder and heat. Couldn't be easier. It's one of those techniques that's been around forever but perfect when you need it.

Enjoy your weekend!

100TH BLOG POST!

My blog. When I began this blog in February, I had no idea that I would enjoy it so much, or that I would even keep it up.So, to have this be my 100th entry, is amazing to me. The visitor counter recently hit the 1000 mark as well so I think it's time for a give-away. This has to be local as I don't want to try to mail it.
I will give a 12x12 clip frame to the winner.
Just leave me a comment and on September 3oth, I will draw a winner.

Today's card is the sample for Hostess Club coming up on Monday night. Just a bit  of brayering and stamping- couldn't be easier.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

TRIPLE DIMENSION

Is that the same as 3D? Well, whether it is or isn't, it's a VERY forgiving technique because you smudge the image - on purpose! Now, if I make a little oops when I'm stamping, I'll just make it a Triple Dimension technique card.

It could actually become quite addicitng.

Have a wonderful day! I see the sun is shining this morning- lovely, lovely.

NEW BLING!

The Holiday mini catalogue from Stampin' Up! has a few new shiny things to offer. This card shows the glass glitter and gold waffle paper. The circle shows a small piece of one of the new Christmas designer papers.
You can check out the mini HERE
But you'll want to get your coffee- you'll be there awhile  :)

NOT BLOGGING.... ORGANIZING

Right along wth creating, I love organizing. Recently, I took part in a technique swap and once the samples arrived, I needed to get them organized and blended in with samples I already had. The binder rings were no longer going to work, nor was the big binder. My solution for now, is what you see here.  I'm not sure if this is temporay- I'll just have to use it for awhile and see.
Believe it or not, this is many hours of work -printing the directions, trimming and taping. And I loved it!

Hopefully, I'll get some cards made up real soon and here for you to see. Now, that I'm all organized...... :)

B'DAY B'FLY

Just die cut, then pressure embossed the butterfly, then sanded off the top layer a bit. What else do you make for a friend having a birthday and she LOVES butterflies?
For me, any kind of embossing adds to a card and never gets old.

Thanks for looking!
